Showcase Moderators use the Moderate Profiles tool to review and approve new profiles or profiles that have been edited before they become available in the showcase. If you approve a profile, its State is set to 'Approved'. If all other display conditions are met, this profile can be displayed. If you reject a profile, the profile State is set to 'Rejected' and the profile is ineligible for display, but it is not deleted. Rejected profiles can be edited, then resubmitted for moderation. Items set to 'Skip' remain in the moderation queue.
Review a pending profile and approve it for display in the showcase or reject it, making it ineligible for display.
All profiles in the moderation queue are displayed for you to review. To view a profile in a separate pop up window, click the View link. Click the Approve or Reject link next to any profiles you wish to moderate. Profiles set to Skip are not acted upon and remain in the moderation queue.
- Name
The name of the profile.
- Categories
The category (or categories) assigned to this profile. These categories are used to group profiles in the showcase. To learn more about how categories are used by visitors in searching and browsing, see Searching and Browsing.
- Keywords
The keywords that have been provided for this catalog item to increase the likelihood that users will retrieve it when searching and browsing for items of this kind. To learn more about how keywords are used in searching and browsing, see Searching and Browsing..
- State
The profile state must be 'approved' for this profile to be displayed.
- Status
If the profile status is 'inactive', this profile isn't eligible for display.
- Display Publicly
If Displayed Publicly is 'Yes', the profile is potentially displayable. If this is 'No', the profile is visible to administrators only. To learn more about display rules, see Gating Public Display.
- Last Modified
The date of most recent changes to this profile.
- Actions
Click Approve, Reject or Skip, depending on which action you wish to take. Skip is the default.
Profiles in the moderation queue are displayed according to the action selected on the previous step. If you want to make any changes, use the Back button to return to the previous step. When you are satisified with your choices, click the Moderate button to submit your changes to the Kavi Showcase database.
Any profiles that you approved may be eligible for display in your showcase. Profiles that you skipped will wait in the moderation queue until acted upon. Profiles that you rejected can be edited by the profile contact and resubmitted for moderation.
