Showcase Admins use the Moderate a Profile tool to review a profile that is in the 'Pending' state and approve it for display in the organization's catalog or not. A profile may be in the 'Pending' state because it was added recently and has not yet been approved for display, or because it was recently edited by the Profile Contact or other authorized user. To approve this profile, set its State to 'Approved'. To reject this profile, set its State to 'Rejected'.
What happens to the profile after you moderate it depends on several factors, including which action you took, whether an approved version of the profile already exists, and whether the profile meets all the other display criteria. For more information, see the Display Scenarios table in the Concepts document Gating Profile and Catalog Item Display.
- Accepted
-
If this is a new profile, it may become eligible for display as soon as it is approved, providing all other gating criteria are met.
When an approved profile is edited by a Profile Contact, a new version of the profile is created as the edits are saved. This will be a 'Working' version or a 'Pending' version, depending on which option the Profile Contact selected. Meanwhile, the old 'Approved' version remains untouched. If this older version is displayed in the catalog, it continues to be displayed until a newer version is approved. If the moderator approves this new, edited version, the old 'Approved' version is deleted and the new 'Approved' version takes its place in the catalog.
- Rejected
-
If the profile state is set to 'Rejected', the profile is not deleted. Instead, it becomes available to the Profile Contact who can make whatever edits were suggested by the moderator, then save this revised version as 'Pending' when the Profile Contact is ready to resubmit it for moderator review.
In this situation, at least three versions of the profile exist in Kavi Showcase: the old 'Approved' version, the 'Rejected' version and the new 'Pending' version.
Note
This tool is accessed through a button at the top of the Manage a Profile page.
Review and take action on pending profiles. You may approve those that are ready to be displayed in your organization's showcase, reject those that should not be displayed and skip those that you don't wish to act upon at this time.
The profile is displayed for you to review. To moderate, set the State to 'Approved' or 'Rejected' and click the Moderate button. If you don't want to moderate this profile, use the Back button to return to the Manage a Profile page.
You may opt to send or suppress Scheduled Email, but if you rejected the profile you probably want to send a message so you can notify the Profile Contact. You may add information to the body of the email explaining the reason for the rejection and instructions on what changes should be made before the item is resubmitted for moderator approval.
If you approved this profile, it replaces any older approved versions and will be displayed in your organization's showcase if it is eligible. If you rejected this profile, the 'Rejected' version is available for editing. If you opted to send an email message, it will go out now.
