Super Admins use the Configure Featured Profiles tool to select featured profiles. The type of featuring used on the site is determined by the 'manual_feature_profile' option setting in Configure Kavi Showcase. If this option is set to 'Yes', manual featuring is enabled and the Featured Profiles Schedule is displayed. If this option is set to 'No', automated featuring is enabled. The tool presents different options depending on whether featured profiles are to be selected manually or automatically.
Featured profiles may be displayed on the showcase landing page and elsewhere throughout the site. The featured displayed on the showcase landing page is selected randomly from all those features currently scheduled for display and those with no specified start or end dates. If there are no features on the list or none with current display dates, the featured profile box is not displayed on the showcase landing page.
View and manage featured profiles manually if the 'manual_feature_profile' option is set to 'Yes'.
Configure automated profile selection if the 'manual_feature_profile' option is set to 'No'.
The current selection of featured profiles is displayed along with tools that allow you to Edit the featuring schedule or Delete the profile from the featured profiles list. The list of featured profiles can be reordered by clicking column headings displayed as links (e.g., Name, Start Date, End Date). To select another profile for featuring, click Add a Featured Profile.
Fields
- Name
The name of the profile.
- Start Date
The date that featuring is scheduled to start. If this is 'None', the start date isn't defined so the featuring begins immediately if all criteria used to gate display are met.
- End Date
The date that featuring is scheduled to end. If this is 'None', the end date isn't defined so the featuring continues indefinitely.
- Categories
The category (or categories) assigned to this profile. These categories are used to group profiles in the showcase. To learn more about how categories are used by visitors in searching and browsing, see Searching and Browsing.
- Action
Click the Edit link to edit the dates or other featuring criteria or the Delete link to remove this profile from the featured items schedule.
Options
- Keyword
To select profiles based on keywords, enter one or more keywords.
- Category
To select profiles based on category, select one or more categories.
- Catalog Item Categories
To select profiles based on catalog item category, select one or more categories.
- Image/Logo
To select only those profiles that have an Image or Logo graphic available, select this option.
You've just set automated profile featuring criteria! Your settings are displayed along with information about the featured profiles. This selection may include profiles that are not currently eligible for display.
